Fine Gold is a precious metal and it is important to receive the purity of gold that you have selected. Yet it is not so easy to distinguish gold purity by “eye.”
In order to safely buy fine gold jewelry online, look for an artist who sources their gold from a certified refiner. Responsible refiners provide a legal guarantee of the purity of their gold.
This matters because gold content varies a lot. Gold quality is measured in “karats”, from 24k (99% gold) to 22k (91% gold) and down to 14k at 58% gold. So these hoop earrings at 22k have a lot more gold in them than a pair at 14k. What’s the difference? The rich saturated yellow hue is drop dead gorgeous! 14k is pale by comparison.
