Earrings and The Pillow
Objects that we mean to keep forever are deserving of our care. What kind of care do our earrings need from us when it comes to a matchup with The Pillow? We simply need to consider a phenomenon called “metal fatigue.” It’s what happens if you take a paper clip and bend its arm back and forth. It won’t be long before the thing snaps off.
An earring post is like that paper clip. It is firmly attached with solder to the earring body. Now think about what happens to the post when we put our heads down on that pillow to sleep.
